Schalke sign Jean-Clair Todibo on loan from Barcelona

GERMANY- Schalke have edged out AC Milan with the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo, the French youth international arriving on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season.
Tobido, 20 years old moved to FC Barcelona in January 2019. So far, he has played four games in the Primera Division for the Catalans, and the centre back has been used once in the Champions League.
After signing the contract, Jean-Clair Todibo said to the club website: “When I talked to the club’s managers, the project convinced me to look for success with young players. That’s why I chose Schalke 04. “
“We said in the training camp in Spain that we will only be active once more if something opens up for us that will take us further,” explained Schalke head coach David Wagner.
“That certainly applies to Jean-Clair Todibo, who is one of the best young central defenders currently in Europe. Since Benjamin Stambouli’s recovery is, unfortunately, taking a little longer than everyone had hoped for, it makes sense to add another central defender.
“He can also be used in defensive midfield. We will all give him the best possible support in further developing his obvious potential. We are really looking forward to that. ”
