Schalke rise to second in Bundesliga

Germany-Schalke 04 rose to second in the Bundesliga with a determined 2-1 win over Union Berlin ending their five game-winning run in all competitions.
On form forward, Benito Raman opened the scoring (23’) before Marcus Ingvartsen netted a controversial penalty in the 36th minute before Suat Serdar won it late on with just four minutes left to play.
Schalke head coach David Wagner speaking after the 2-1 win oner Union Berlin said;
It was a difficult game, just as we’d expected. Union were the better team in the first period and had the better chances. We only had the one moment in the first half. Ozan Kabak set the ball back to Raman brilliantly for the goal. Their penalty shouldn’t have been given in my eyes.
We improved in the second half, because we changed our tactics slightly. We definitely could have taken the lead earlier than we did. Winning it so late on makes it even more enjoyable. The table is irrelevant for me at the moment. It only matters after 34 games, not 13.
