Harry Kane breaks goal scoring record
England, 18 Nov 2019
Harry Kane entered the record books by becoming the first England player to score in every game in a qualifying campaign as Gareth Southgate’s side won 4-0 against Kosovo in their final Euro 2020 qualifier.
Tottenham Hotspurs teammate Harry Winks scored the opener for England before the halftime break before the three lions put the game beyond doubt with Kane, Marcus Rashford and assisting Mason Mount first international goal in stoppage time.
Tottenham star Kane said: ‘It was a difficult game. The pitch was poor and they were really up for it. ‘But we got it right in the end. As a striker, I want to be scoring goals and winning games. It was great to get another goal there. Hopefully, I can keep that going.’
The Spurs frontman netted 12 goals in the campaign with a hat-trick in the last home match with a 7-0 win over Montenegro and ensured they secured a top seeding in the group stages of the Euro 2020.
