Spain- Valencia CF coach Albert Celades praised his side after a hard-fought 2-0 win against Granada CF but wants his side to move up the LaLiga.

Valencia had been clicking in gear with a convincing 4-1 win over Lille OSC in the Champions League and dispatched Espanyol in La Liga and were looking to tame surprise package, Granada.

Los Che, in the end, were stifled but made the breakthrough with Daniel Wass on the 74th minute for his first of the season with teenager Ferran Torres stoppage-time second sealing the three points.

Valencia CF coach Albert Celades speaking after a win 2-0 against Granada CF

“This win deserves a lot of credit, because of our opposition, the two new injuries we picked up, the fact that we’d played a highly demanding Champions League game in midweek, the injuries we have and the fact that we are fielding some players more than they should be. We are very happy with the performance of everybody.” He told the club website.

“We’d like to be higher up the table, concede fewer goals, have more points… but we’re in a good position in the Champions League alongside two of the best teams in Europe in Ajax and Chelsea, and in LaLiga we are improving. We’re getting closer to the top positions, but we need to demand more from ourselves.

“We are always very proud of the players, and today is another day like that. The performance deserves a lot of credit for everything: We were up against a good side who are still at the top of the table -and that isn’t a coincidence.”
