Barcelona 10 Nov- Lionel Messi registered his 34th hattrick as his Barcelona FC side moved back the top of La Liga Santander with a convincing 4-1 win at the Nou Camp bouncing back from their defeat at Levante.

Messi converted a penalty in the first half before netting two sumptuous freekicks either side of the half to beat a struggling Celta Vigo to a 4-1 defeat at the Camp Nou with his head coach running out of superlatives.

“With Leo, anything is possible,” Valverde said about his Argentine Maestro.

“[Taking freekicks] is something that he’s mastered to perfection.

“Because of this, the opponent can’t commit fouls on the edge of their own box. If they do, we try to take advantage.

“Messi, apart from scoring goals, has a commitment to the game.”

The Blaugrana had had a tough week with the loss to Levante and a barren draw in the Champions League against Slavia Prague in mid week.

“After losing, it’s nice to win. Even more so in a team like ours,” Valverde added.

“We had a damaging defeat the other day and we needed a win tonight.

“It was really difficult for us in the first half, with their high press that made it hard for us to play out and we didn’t have much rhythm in our play.”
