Bayer Leverkusen share the points with Werder Bremen
BUNDESLIGA- Bayer Leverkusen shared the points with Werder Bremen after a 2-2 draw at the BayArena.
Leverkusen broke the deadlock with the former defender for Werkself Omer Toprak turning in Kerem Demirbay‘s corner into his own goal in the fourth minute. The visitors equalised with Milot Rashica’s shot taking a deflection off Aleksandar Dragovic‘s to deceive Lukas Hradecky in goal.
Werder took the lead after the break with Davy Klaassen strike from the edge of the penalty but Lucas Alario levelled terms for the home side tapping home Karim Bellarabi‘s low cross.
Leverkusen head coach Peter Bosz: “We really wanted to win – that did not work – we slowly lost access at halftime one, and after the break, we were better and put a lot of pressure – and made good use of Bellarabi’s strengths.”
“We did a lot of good too – there was a bit of luck missing in the box today, for example, Lucas’s goal on the bows, so we have to keep going forward and push the goals forward.”
“SvenBender had to go out because of ankle problems, where he has been injured since # AtletiB04, I can not say what that looks like and what diagnosis we will receive.”
Werder-Coach Florian Kohfeldt: “Bayer04 played a little bit differently than usual – with the double top – that gave us a lot of one on one wing and Bellarabi did a great job for me.”
“We could have lost as well, because of the morale and our scoring chances, the point is not undeserved – but compliments to Leverkusen, here is great football was played, it is a great team in the second half, they were very strong.”
