Leverkusen boss Heiko Herrlich: “Congrats to Frankfurt on the victory. Neutral fans have at least seen some great football today. We had our chances, but we didn’t use them. We weren’t aggressive enough defensively on the goals conceded.”

“In the decisive situations today, Frankfurt were a bit more aggressive than us – maybe a bit too aggressive. We held up well against that, but never found a way through their robustness and the loss is deserved.”

Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic: “It was win that had to be worked for in a hard-fought game against a good Leverkusen side – one that had some real attacking firepower on the field. Winning wasn’t easy. The team showed real mental strength.”

Eintracht trainer Adi Hütter: “I witnessed a really good Bundesliga game between two sides who were in action on Thursday in the Europa League. I also saw a solid, excellent team performance. With his goal and his assist, Filip Kostic certainly had a major role in the win. What he produced on the left flank until the very last second was impressive.”
