Galtier:Lille OSC poor performance led to draw

Victor Osimhen rescued Lille OSC with a late goal at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy to draw 2-2 against Nimes with Christophe Galtier deeming the performance poor.

Lille had come off a 2-1 late defeat against Chelsea in the Champions League with a draw at Nice their last result in Ligue 1 and went ahead through Loic Remy on the second attempt after Nimes keeper Bernardoni denied Ikoné initially.

Renaud Ripart pulled the visitors level from the penalty spot after Jose Fonte conceded a penalty in stoppage time of the first half. Ripart turned provider setting up Ahoueke Steeve Kevin Denkey to tap in from four yards.

Osimhen rescued a point from a goal-mouth scramble for a 2-2 on 78 minutes with the Douges moving to fifth with 15 points and the second draw in succession.

Speaking after the game head coach Galtier lamented against the poor performance

“We had a good start in the first fifteen minutes. But quickly, we wasted possession and individual technical errors and we gave away the ball easily to Nîmes who used it well in his transitions… 
” We do not appreciate this point because it is a poor performance, but ten minutes from the end, we did not have a defensive shape, we were very bad.
