Atletico Madrid News; Griezmann, Godin and Morata

Atletico Madrid stalwart Diego Godin said his farewell to the fans with reports emanating of Antoine Griezmann set for Barcelona and Alvaro Morata loan to be cancelled.

According to Cadena SER, via Mundo Deportivo, just a year after announcing he was to turn down Barcelona advances to stay with Atletico, the World Cup winner now looks to be edging closer to a switch.

The French world cup winner release clause will set to be lowered from July 1, Griezmann’s contract sees a €120million (£104m) release clause and that would represent an affordable fee for Barcelona with his earlier clause close to double the price.

Diego Simeone speaking on the rumours of Griezmann moving from Atletico to Barcelona said,

‘Since the subject of Griezmann going to Barcelona started to pop up in the media, I always said that I think he’s okay, he’s cool and happy with his team-mates,’ Simeone said on Saturday.

Diego Godin says farewell to Fans

Diego Godin is set to switch to Inter Milan in the summer on a three-year deal with next weekends final game against Levante on Saturday ending his eight-year association with the club after joining from Villarreal.

Godin final end game at Atlético closed with a 1-1 draw in LaLiga at the Wanda Metropolitano with a draw against Sevilla. with Koke and Pablo Sarabia as the Rojiblancos secured league runner-up.

Atleti to ditch Alvaro Morata

Atletico Madrid could terminate Alvaro Morata loan this summer despite joining Atletico on an 18-month loan deal in January according to reports.

 The Sun, Atletico are considering sending Morata back to Chelsea after it emerged that they would have to pay Chelsea £15million to keep him until 2020.

Morata has so far grabbed six goals in 16 appearances since January and Diego Simeone is looking to bring in a more clinical striker with Everton forward Richarlison linked with a possible move.
