AS Roma coaching search expands to Newcastle with Blanc also linked

AS Roma search for a head coach to take over in the summer has moved to Newcastle with soon to be out of contract Raphael Benitez linked with the role and former PSG boss Laurent Blanc interested in the role.

Roma has been linked with Newcastle boss Raphael Benitez with his future at Newcastle undecided and his contract close to ending but negotiations with the owner Mike Ashley continuing.

The former Napoli boss ticks most boxes for the capital club with his availability and previous management history looking impressive and attractive after Antonio Conte refused their offer.

Laurent Blanc has been away from the game for two years after his stint in Paris Saint Germain and has been linked with high profile jobs only to lose out with his former club Manchester United and rivals Chelsea.

However, following his failure to get work Italian paper Corriere Dello Sport has reported the Frenchman has sent his new representatives  Base Soccer to look into Blanc possibility on the Roma job.

But Blanc, however, is a name that does not particularly intrigue the Giallorossi according to the report with the club looking for a technician with different qualities.

The Giallorossi head hunters are trying to hit one get Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini with a look at Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri future in limbo despite a third place in the Premier, a Europa League final to play, but never loved by property and fans.
