Coman gave Bayern the lead with some luck with his cross into the penalty box curling into the back of the net with the aid of Thomas Muller whose attempt put off the keeper to roll in with a quarter of an hour gone.

Bayern had to wait for the second with Joshua Kimmich providing the breakthrough with an overlapping run on the left wing and cut the ball from the byline for Coman to sidefoot into the top right corner on 41 minutes.

It was more of the same in the second half as Thiago Alcantara corner was met Müller’s flick for Serge Gnabry to tap the easiest of goals at the far post on 55 minutes.

Dusseldorf hat trick hero in the surprise first-leg Dodi Lukebakio scored Fortuna’s late consolation from the penalty spot before substitute Leon Goretzka added a fourth for Bayern from close range in stoppage time.
