Leipzig tighten grip on third spot Bundesliga
Strikes from Kevin Kampl and Timo Werner saw RB Leipzig take a stranglehold of third place in the race for a UEFA Champions League qualification with a home win over Wolfsburg.
RB Leipzig are now unbeaten in 13 matches in all competitions and move to seven points clear of fifth-placed Borussia Monchengladbach.
Kampl netted the seventh Bundesliga goal of his career and the first with his left foot in the 16th-minute curling to the far post from outside the box to open the scoring for Die Bullen.
Timo Werner added the second on 28 minutes for RB Leipzig with a header his first in two years as the German international scored 14 goals, with all goals this season have coming at home.
Wolfsburg European hopes are still alive with a point separating them from the sixth spot and depending on the DFB Pokal cup winners.
