Bayern Munich moved level on points with Borussia Monchengladbach in second with a thumping 4-0 win away to Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga today.
David Alaba quick throw proved vital finding Robert Lewandowski who had peeled off his marker in the box and knocked it backwards and was flicked on to the edge of the box and Joshua Kimmich shows perfect technique and lashed a first-time effort from just outside the box that goes inside the left post with just two minutes gone.
Thomas Muller and Lewandowski both had chances to extend the lead but Alaba found the second of the game from a corner kick that was cleared to the edge of the box and unleashed a half-volley to the roof of the net on 29 minutes.
Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry after the break extended the lead receiving a pass on the edge of the box from Rafinha and closed down menacingly at goal with no challenge on him and struck his effort only to be smothered by his marker but the ball fell to him with the keeper committed to his earlier shot struck on the near post.
Bayern kept looking for a fourth with Muller shot punched away by Michael Eser but the ball was rescued from a corner by Kimmich who stood up a cross and Lewandowski was on hand to head into the net.
