Schalke 04 held to 1-1 draw with Augsburg with two goals ruled offside

Schalke were left disappointed with two goals chalked off for offside via VAR and had to content with a 1-1 comeback draw at Hannover 96.
Michael Gregoritsch headed home after some faulty handling by Schalke keeper Ralph Fahrmann spilled a cross and the Augsburg forward headed into the empty net. Schalke thought they hit back immediately but Cedric Teuchert was ruled out, for offside.
Daniel Caligiuri gave Schalke an equalizer after getting to the ball from outside the box he unleashed a strong shot from distance and It turned out to be a good decision as his effort found its way inside the left post beating Andreas Luthe in goal.
The Royal Blues with six minutes to go were left disappointed with Haji Wright coming onto a low cross in the back post but was flagged offside cutting his celebrations short with VAR confirming the decision was right.
Tedesco’s men who have not won now in the last three games will face Bayer Leverkusen next week 13th in the Bundesliga with Augsburg a point and place below their opponents will contest against Hertha Berlin.
