Gareth Southgate backs Maurizio Sarri handling of Hudson-Odoi
England manager Southgate believes Hudson-Odoi is getting enough game time for now under Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri with his development doesn’t need to be rushed to the first team.
Odoi who got called up for his first international game against the Czech Republic has so far this season got no starting appearances for Chelsea but has racked up 18 appearances in all competitions.
Speaking to the media Southgate said:
“If you look at number of appearances, he has actually been on the field quite a lot.
“So, I think he’s maturing well. There doesn’t need to be a rush for him. We’ve seen that with Marcus Rashford and his development.
“He’s getting first-team football and that’s important. For us, I think his progress is good.”As quoted by the Metro.
