Fredrik Gulbrandsen gave Marco Rose side the lead on the night on 65 minutes after turning in Ulmer’s cross from a few yards and sealed the win on Christoph Leitgeb stoppage-time goal ended up being on consolation losing 4-3 overall.
Ancelotti speaking after the 4-3 aggregate win said:
“The plan was not to get drop deep in defense from the start, which we did well,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“Now we look forward to the quarter-final, which will no doubt be difficult. We had the right approach initially, but then had difficulty dealing with the comeback. I guess the 3-0 first leg lead made us feel comfortable enough going into the final minutes.
