AFC Leopards win Mathare and Kariobangi Sharks draw blanks in KPL
AFC Leopards won against Tusker FC their second game in a row to move up the Kenya Premier league table while Mathare United could only draw blank against Western Stima. Kariobangi Sharks also took a point from Posta Rangers.
AFC Leopards were coming off a win over Sony Sugar while Tusker FC were on a three-game losing streak in the Kenya Premier League.
Ingwe were dealt a blow in the first half as Isaac Kipyegon was handed his marching orders in the first half on 37 minutes but were rewarded as Tatuwe wa Yeka stabbed home on 61 minutes from a long throw that the Brewers keeper fluffed minutes after Yeka had struck the post after being put through on goal.
Leopards second came from Vincent Oburu running through on goal to slip the ball through the keeper’s legs as the 10 men showed their character in the game.
Tusker pushing for a goal but were also reduced to ten men as Boniface Muciri was handed a ticket to the showers and soon after reduced the deficit through Amini Muzerwa on 81 minutes, unfortunately, couldn’t add an equaliser.
