SPAL were denied Sergio Floccari headed goal on the hour after being deemed offside but got their goal from Jasmin Kurtic freekick.
“The front three made the difference with great quality and creating many chances, in addition to the goals.” In the second half the game got dirty, Spal in the second half lost their defensive resolve and tried to get back in the game. We had to win, there was pressure but we had to channel it in the right way”.
During the start of the game, there was a breakdown of communication with the use of the Var was an issue that required a two-way radio:
“The fourth official at the beginning told me that you had to wait more because you had to communicate differently, given the problems.
“I did not see the replays, but there was no need to mess, so is the ‘referee who is going to decide. “Before they were doing injustice with some decisions, now I’m happy because with the Var you can relate”.
