The American winger who was a first-team starter for the Yellows and Blacks has recently fallen behind the English and former Manchester City trainee Jadon Sancho who has been instrumental in the rise of the club to the top of the league with important assists and goals especially in the last game of the ruhr derby against Schalke 04.

Pulisic however who has been hampered with an injury that lead to the rise of the young lion showed his prowess in the champions league game against struggling AS Monaco creating two goals for Raphael Guerreiro in a 2-0 win.

The German side have been speculated to be demanding £70 million ($89m) for Pulisic but Chelsea will attempt to drive down the asking price as talks between the two clubs progress with the American falling down the pecking order.

Maurizio Sarri, in addition, could revamp the forward line with Pedro and Willian in their early thirties and a young Callum Hudson-Odoi yet to be trusted in his big game mentality with cameos coming in the Europa League.

Furthermore, the on and off Eden Hazard claims of Real Madrid without any movement in the extension of his contract and openly courting Los Blancos to move for the Belgium star who is the main outlet for the Blues in their creative department with the BVB winger adding depth and reduce the over-reliance on Hazard.

The biggest hurdle, however, will come from Liverpool with reports of his former boss Jurgen Klopp eyeing the playmaker and reports  from the London Evening Standard has revealed  Borussia Dortmund winger and Liverpool target Christian Pulisic would reportedly prefer to move to Anfield than join Chelsea.

But Chelsea offer a better chance to be a first team starter with the front three of Mane, Firminho and Salah hard to break through considering the Blues right-hand side which still looks to be up for grabs with Willian and Pedro not cementing Pulisic’s natural position.

The Dortmund player, however, opened the possibility of a switch in November claiming that in January could be a possible time to negotiate on his future.

“I’m still focused on Dortmund. We are doing great this season,” Pulisic told NBC Sports.

“Once the break comes [in January], that is always when I will have to discuss with Dortmund and see about my future.”
