Dawid Kownacki brace guides Dusseldorf against Schalke

Fortuna took the lead with their usual tactics as Dodi Lukebakio latched on to a precise through ball from Benito Raman to race into the box and rifle into the goal but was denied by VAR.
Düsseldorf were grateful to VAR ten minutes later, though, revealing Matija Nastasic to have handled in the penalty area and Lukebakio scored from the spot.
Benito Raman found Dawid Kownacki for his first of the day inside the box, he spotted goalkeeper Alexander Nubel off his line to chip in past the keeper on 62 minutes.
Lukebakio turned provider, laying on Raman on the left to unleashed a thunderous strike into the top corner six minutes later.
Kownacki netted the second from a rebound into the bottom left corner after the ball broke to him in the box on 84 minutes.
Schalke boss Domenico Tedesco on the 4-0 loss to Dusseldorf: “I apologised to the fans for the performance. That was the least we could do in this kind of situation. The fans were understandably frustrated and aggressive. I can appreciate where the Ultras were coming from.”
