: We played a bad first half and let the greed miss. After 0:1, I thought we were cursed.
But then we accepted the work and finally had game luck again at 1:1. The 2:1 we’re playing out well. In the end, we are happy about the three points against a strong Mainz team.
Niklas Stark: The win is vitally important to us as we have not won at home for a while and really wanted to change that. In the first half, we did not do so well and did not get into the duels too much.
“Of course, the second round did not start so well, I tried to clear the ball in this scene and somehow fend off, but unfortunately it slipped.
“The goal was also a kind of can opener today. We played aggressively forward and had better runs. Tino does that well at my gate, he has the back room in view and I just have to keep my foot clean.
“The fact that the team is spinning the game speaks for them, and we can be proud of that!”
