Western Stima coach Ogai blames fitness for 4-0 rout

Western Stima head coach Paul Ogai has blamed fitness of his players after his side was humiliated 4-0 against Sony Sugar in the Kenya Premier League.

The shocking result comes after a six-game unbeaten run for the club who have conceded just five goals in the last five games and lost out on to their opponents who moved a point above them in seventh on 22 points, a point above them.
Speaking to Goal.com Ogai claimed his side was unfit after their good performance against defending champions Gor Mahia.

“Actually we were not fit at all against Sony Sugar; we are used to creating chances in the first ten minutes or so when we play but that did not happen last weekend.

“We struggled and the result says it all. The injuries we have also contributed to the defeat; sometimes missing your key players affects your team.

However, the head coach has urged his side to return to winning form in their next encounter against Vihiga United.

“We have to bounce back this weekend against Vihiga United. It is going to be tough but we have to give our best, we have to cope with the situation,” Ogai told Goal.
