Bandari maintained their lead in the Kenya premier league with a slim 1-0 win over Nzoia Sugar at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.
A Felly Mulumba penalty in the fourth minute of the game was enough to see off the challenge of their visitors but their head coach Bernard Mwalala was critical of the side’s last ten minutes of the game where he thought they dropped off and would have been punished.
“Currently nobody is safe, its game after game. Let’s first finish the first leg. After five or six games into the second leg, we can think of such a talk. As it stands we cannot declare that we want to win the league,” Mwalala said to Citizen Digital.
“We dictated play until the final ten minutes when we disintegrated. We have to play well the entire game, offensively and defensively. Otherwise it will be difficult for us. We will be working on it,” said Mbungo.
“It is up to me to instill my philosophy and make sure that we starting winning matches immediately. This is a good working environment and I know that we are going to get positive results.”
