Gor Mahia sweep past Hussein Dey in CAF Confederation cup

Gor Mahia moved top of their group in the CAF Confederation Cup with a fiery 2-0 win over Hussein Dey at the Moi International sports center.

Gor started off with better early chances in the opening minutes of the game with Sammy Onyango blazing high while Jaques Tuyisenge producing a tame shot after Nicholas Kipkirui set him up on the edge of the box.

Faozi Yahya went close in the second half with his shot going past the near post with Hussein Dey looking for a draw resulted in time-wasting tactics but were punished late on.

Francis Kahata volleyed in the ball in the 84th minute after the Algerians keeper Gaya Merbah punching clearance from Shafiq Batambuze’s cross went straight to the Kenyan international and rifle into the back post.

Hussein Dey midfielder Harrag was handed a second yellow card following the goal for protesting to the referee just after the goal

Rwandese striker Tuyisenge made the game safe with a poachers strike after Batambuze intercepted header caught the Algerians flat-footed as the K’Ogalo striker raced and stuck past the keeper to the displeasure of the opposition.

Sirkal move top of the group following Zamalek and Petro Atletico 1-1 draw leaving the Angolan side on 4 points same as Hussein Dey with Zamalek bottom with 2 points.
