Sofapaka rout Mathare United 4-1

Sofapaka moved into third in the Kenya premier league with their fifth win in a row after a 4-1 rout of table toppers Mathare United whose wheels seem have come off after the fourth game without a win.

Batotot Ba Mungu came off the blocks with a second-minute goal after Asieche speculative long-distance shot from 30 yards somehow crept in the bottom right corner past Owiny’s goal.

John Baraza’s side added the second from a free-kick with Achesa struck from the edge of the box after Kasumba was brought down by Okal who was lucky for getting a yellow instead of a red card for being the last man.

Soon it was three after Kasumba struck 11 minutes later latching first to a parried free kick by Mathare keeper straight into his path to tuck home.

Francis Kimanzi side pulled one back from Kevin Kimani on 72 minutes but Kasumba grabbed his brace on stoppage time after being put through on goal and unleashed a volley that came off the underside of the bar and bounced past the goal line.

Mathare still lead the KPL on goal difference from Bandari on 25 points while Sofapaka are third with
