Sarri sorry for Chelsea 6-0 thumping at Manchester City
Maurizio Sarri was left with just an apology to his Chelsea fans to say after being handed a 6-0 thumping against Manchester City in the premier league.
Chelsea suffered a humiliating second away premier league with Sergio Aguero pouncing on a hattrick with Raheem Sterling netting a brace to move top of the EPL with the Blues moving down to sixth on goal difference.
he Italian said: “I am doing my best and I’m trying to get the players to do their best but at the moment I can only say sorry because in the last three away matches we played very badly.”
“It’s very difficult to describe our performance. It’s also very difficult to understand because during the week I really was very happy with the team.
“I am surprised because at the beginning of the season we played better away than at home. I don’t know what’s happened but at the moment we’re in trouble.
“In the last three or four matches we have been in trouble without a reaction at the first difficulty so we need to understand.”
The future of the Blues boss has come under scrutiny but Sarri admitted he didn’t know what.
He added: “I don’t know. You’re asking me about something that’s not my job. I’m worried about our performances, you’ll have to ask the club.”
