Southampton vow to ban ‘indecent fans’ after Sala plane gesture
Southampton have released a statement after two of their fans were questioned after the Cardiff City premier league match for making shockingly awful gestures to the Bluebirds striker Emiliano Sala plane crash after the 2-1 late win.
The incidence comes after the 2-1 stoppage time winner through Kenneth Zohore for Cardiff City after Sol Bamba opener from a corner was canceled by Jake Stephens header in the closing minutes of the game to send the Saints into the relegation zone.
A statement from Southampton read:
“The Club will continue to work with Hampshire Police to identify any individuals deemed to have made indecent gestures towards Cardiff supporters.
“Such behaviour has no place in our game and will not be tolerated at St Mary’s. The club will be taking an extremely firm stance against anyone involved and intends to ban those supporters identified.”
