Celta Vigo took the lead on two minutes with Nestor Araujo peeling away from his marker to meet the resulting free kick from Brais Mendez, and he steered a guided header into the back of the net.

Getafe got a triple boost with a penalty on 39 minutes after Hugo Mallo conceded a penalty with Gomez given two yellow cards for arguing with the referee to go down to ten men and Jaime Mata rolled the ball into the back of the net.

On 62 minutes the home side made the 1man difference and take advantage for Jorge Molina to find the back of the net and secured the three points after Celta keeper Ruben Blanco clanger with his attempted pass falling to Mata to tap into an empty net.

Iago Aspas speaking after the game:

“We played a very good game last week, competing very well against a team like Sevilla, we knew what we were doing here, we did the hardest thing: to get ahead, I do not want to overlook everything that has happened to us. My mother, if it happens to another team next week, they do not show up to play, “he told BeIN Sports at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

“After having everything controlled in the first part, the gift of the penalty comes … I do not know how they do not see the VAR, then they will complain about ‘respect’ I think that today’s cannot happen in the best league of the world, that having a camera that does not come to review the referee, then in ours, the first offside, “he said.

” He has penalized us a lot, the game has been ruined as a result of a penalty and an expulsion, he changed a game that we had totally in favor, we were controlling them quite well, especially after having put ourselves ahead,” he continued.
