Gor Mahia thump Zoo Kericho 4-0

12 December 2018 18:15 Gor Mahia got their first points of the season with a win of the new 2018-2019 Kenyan Premier League season by, thumping Zoo FC 4-0 in a match staged at the MISC Kasarani on Sunday 12th December.

Gor Mahia’s goals came courtesy of a brace from Ephrem Guikan, Erisa Ssekisambu and Samuel Onyango with both sides reduced to 10 men after Francis Kahata and Dennis Kawanga saw red for elbowing each other in the 73rd minute.

K’Ogalo opening game on Saturday ended on the wrong foot, beaten 2-1 lat coastal side Bandari, Gor Mahia sought a confidence-boosting win with the champions league game on the weekend and Shafiq Batambuze whipped in a cross that was tapped in by Ephrem Guikan.

Sirkal got the second when Sabiri Sindani hacked down Samuel Onyango down with the referee pointing to the spot and the Ivorian Guikan stepped up to take the penalty slotting into the bottom right corner leaving Zoo keeper Martin Elung’at rooted to the ground.

Samuel Onyango got on the score sheet with a curling effort to the far right post after being feed by Guikan who responded to his critics in spectacular fashion.

Erisa Ssekisambu a second-half substitute, controlled brilliantly and got past the keeper to slot into the empty net. His first goal in Gor Mahia colors.
