Gor Mahia continue winning run in Mashemeji derby
Gor Mahia continued their winning run in the mashemeji derby against AFC Leopards with a 2-0 win at the Moi sports center Kasarani.
Gor Mahia went ahead on the 15th minute when Francis Kahata delivered a cross that fell to Kenneth Muguna and managed to swivel and shoot and managed to squeeze past Ingwe keeper Ndayishimiye legs to trickel into the back of the net.
K’Ogalo added the second on 64 minutes after Kahata whipped in an inch-perfect free kick that was guided by defender Haron Shakava header for his first goal of the season with the keeper left flat-footed and failing to make an attempt to dive thinking it would go wide.
Oktay’s boys were denied the third from an overzealous linesman as Jaques Tuyisenge header was chalked off while clearly showing he was onside after replays.
The win moves the defending Sportpesa premier league champions move to second three points from KPL leaders Mathare United with a game in hand on 25 points.
