Mt Kenya United move out of relegation zone with win over AFC Leopards

Mount Kenya United moved out of the Kenya premier league with a 2-1 win over AFC Leopards after changing their head coach yesterday.

Peter Amani scored the opening goal for Melis Medo side before Shittu equalized for Leopards three minutes past the half-hour mark. Timothy Wanyonyi added the second for Mount Kenya in the 72nd minute to earn themselves three points.

AFC Leopards XI: Ndayishimiye Eric, Isaac Kipyegon, Dennis Sikhayi, Robinson Kamura (C), Salim Abdallah, Saad Musa, Whyvonne Isuzza, Marcel Kaheza, Odeny Jaffery (Vincent Oburu), Mukangula Eugene and Wayi Yeka.

Unused subs: Jairus Adira, Mainge Yusuf, Christopher Oruchum, Baker Lukooya, Brian Marita and Odeny Aziz.

Mount Kenya United XI: Phillip Okayo, Bernard Omondi, Mohamed Nigol ( Paul Kairu), Peter Amani, John Ndirangu (Harun Nyakha), Boniface Mukhekhe, Samwel Ndung’u (Nahashon Thiong’o), Moses Odhiambo, Timothy Wanyonyi and Brian Nyakan.

Unused subs: Franklin Kirimi, David Gateri, Kelvin Wangui and Silas Shitemi.
