Inzaghi blames Coppa Italia fatigue for bland win over Frosinone
Simeone Inzaghi lay the blame on the Coppa Italia win on penalties after extra time over Inter Milan for the lack of sharpness in the 1-0 win over Frosinone with Felipe Caicedo decisive.
“Lazio weren’t as sharp as usual, but it was to be expected we’d feel the fatigue of the Coppa Italia, especially in the second half,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia via FootballItalia.net.
“It was an important result for our standing in the table and we made a few too many mistakes, but fought hard for the victory.”
Lazio were held 1-1 into extra time of the Coppa Italia with Aquile getting the winner in post-match penalties.
“Ciro Immobile also had a muscular twinge, but we had used up all the substitutions and basically were down to 10 men for the last 20 minutes.
“We are fortunate enough to be involved in three tournaments and for that we need everyone involved. Valon Berisha picked up an injury straight away when he arrived, so his progress has been held back, but he has a lot of quality and I think will make an impact this season.”
