Lucas Moura’s late goal sent Tottenham through to the Champions League knockout stages by earning a precious 1-1 draw at Barcelona matching Inter Milan’s result.
Spurs, who had to match Inter Milan’s result against PSV Eindhoven in Group B in the champions league, were hit early on in the seventh minute with Ousmane Dembele’s taking advantage of youngster Kyle Walker-Peters stealing the ball off the defender and running on goal to put it past Hugo Lloris in goal.
Spurs night was looking to be enormous with Barca going for a second goal with Philippe Coutinho weaving into the penalty area, but his shot grazed a post and went wide in the 45th minute.
The Londoners pushed on further forward looking for a leveller and were again let off the hook with Coutinho finding himself some space to take a shot from just outside the box but his effort was tipped by Lloris and the ball went into the post for a Barcelona to earn a corner.
However, Mauricio Pochettino side got the goal that they needed with Inter and PSV drawing at the time with Erik Lamela slipping in Harry Kane in the left inside and he took the ball and squared for Lucas Moura to stab the ball into the back of the net.
