Villarreal sack Luis Garcia
Struggling La Liga club Villarreal have sacked their manager Luis Garcia following the club falling down in the relegation zone three points from safety.
Garcia has just been at the job for less than two months taking charge of nine games since his appointment in December after the sacking of Javier Calleja. A statement from the club read:
“Villarreal CF has decided to finish Luis Garcia’s contact as first-team manager. The club would like to thank the manager for his hard work, dedication and professionalism, wishing him the best of luck throughout his sporting career.
Luis García will take part in a press conference this afternoon at 4pm CET at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) to officially say goodbye.
The club will announce the name of the new Villarreal CF manager in the coming hours”.
