Gor Mahia apologise for Machakos county for KPL chaos

Gor Mahia has apologised for the chaos that ensued their Sportpesa premier league match against KCB FC.

K’Ogalo who were losing 1-0 against with a few minutes to go, their fans went on the rampage following what they perceived a wrong call by the linesmen for a throw-in.

A statement released by the club through their club website read:

“To our beloved fans and supporters of football in this nation, Gor Mahia Football Club is extremely saddened by the unfortunate incident that happened in Machakos on Sunday as we played with KCB.

“Due to contentious decisions on the pitch that irked a section of fans, the game was brought to a temporary halt for almost 15 minutes. It is highly regretted that vehicles were destroyed in this incident and as a club, we condemn this violence in the strongest terms.

“We hereby urge all our fans to embrace peace and dialogue regardless of any perceived bias on the pitch rather than engage in acts that only taint and mar the positive image of the club”.
