Mathare United in comeback win extend lead in KPL
Mathare United extended their lead to five points in the Kenya premier league with a comeback 3-1 win over Vihiga at the MISC in Nairobi.
Vihiga United who have become the draw specialists with four in a row before this game went into the lead on 31 minutes as Omurwa scored into his own net after Mauda had beaten an on rushing Okello with a clever lob.
Francis Kimanzi’s side, however, drew level eleven minutes later with the visitors conceding a penalty and Kevin Kimani restores parity from the spot, sending Geoffrey Oputi the wrong way after Khaemba handled in the area.
The slum boys took the lead five minutes after the break after Moffat Juma deflects the ball into his own net from David Owino’s cross and added another three minutes later with Nyakeya ghosting behind the visitor’s defence to flick Chrispin Oduor’s cross over Oputi.
