Felipe Luis wants new deal at Atletico

Felipe Luis has called out to his club to offer him a new deal with the left-back’s current deal set to run out in the summer.

“When I came back from Chelsea, I planned to retire at Atletico Madrid,” he told Globosporte via Marca.

“I was 30 years old and I would end that contract at 33 or 34.

“I would renew for another two or three years and then I would be working at Atletico Madrid; that would be perfect for me.

“But we know that in football things can change and Atleti have a rule, in quotation marks, of only renewing for one year [for] those [players] who are over 30.

“They promised me, in front of the group, that at the end of the market they will make an effort and offer a renewal.

“I hope that Atleti will offer me a contract of two or three years, so that I can finish my career here, but it depends on the club.”
