Thierry Henry explains mouthing off at Kenny Lala
The pressure to AS Monaco head coach seems to have gotten to the former Arsenal player after he was caught on camera allegedly mouthing insults to Strasbourg right-back in the 5-1 home loss.
Things for Monaco started off on the backfoot Veteran defender Naldo was sent off seven minutes into his second league Appearance ending up with a heavy loss as Strasbourg ran out 5-1 winners at Stade Louis II, leaving the main club second bottom of Ligue 1 and staring at relegation after 21 games of the season.
During the closing stages of the first-half Henry was spotted by the broadcaster Channel Plus caught the exchange on its microphones and published a subtitled clip Twitter.
While informing Lala “it’s the 43rd minute” and adding “oh, come on, stop now, it’s enough”, Henry appeared to use a French insult which translates as “grandson of ab ****” or “your grandmother is aw * *** “.
Henry in his defence stated the player was time wasting and told him off
“I said it needed to stop, it was too much,” Henry told a post-match news conference.
“We are fighting against everything, if there is that as well … it needs to stop.”
