Parma boss D’Aversa hails Gervinho in deserved 2-1 win
Parma Coach Roberto D’Aversa hailed their talisman Gervinho in the 2-1 win over Udinese with the former Arsenal forward earning a penalty for Roberto Inglese to score and score from a counter-attack after Stefano Okaka equaliser with a header had levelled.
“It was a very important match this evening, a head-to-head for position, and a performance like that was not easy,” D’Aversa told Sky Sport Italia via Football Italia.
“We managed to recover after conceding an avoidable goal. These lads are fantastic and started the second half of the season in the best possible way.
“Gervinho is a champion, we all know that, but I want to underline his human qualities too. He is a serious professional, a hard worker and has put himself at the disposal of this team to a remarkable degree.
“I am proud of our lads and they earned every single point they’ve got in the table. Nobody has given us anything for free.”
