Mathare United back to the top with comeback win over Homeboyz

Nairobi- Mathare United came from a goal down to register a 3-2 win over Kakamega Homeboyz to go back on top of the Kenya premier league with Chrispin Odour on target with a brace.

Mathare who were demoted to second after Bandari slim win over Posta Rangers on Thursday and went down a goal from Allan Wanga who connects to Thiongo’s cross to tap in past Owiny in the 9th minute.

The ‘slum boys’ however, hit back from a brace from Odour with the first coming on 20 minutes with a tap in after connecting to Kinyanjui’s cutback and went ahead seven minutes later after Andika parried Kinyanjui’s shot into his path to finish off.

Nyakeya made it three with after Odour slipped him through for one on one with Andika. and finished the goal off but Homeboyz pulled one back for a nervy ending for Kimanzi’s charges with Luke Namanda in stoppage time.

Mathare top the KPL league with 20 points and face Vihiga United in their next fixture with Kakamega in 11th spot on 8 points and host Ulinzi Stars next.
