Chelsea seeking permanent transfer of Batshauyi
Monaco target Michy Batshuayi loan deal is being held up with Chelsea are pushing for the move to become permanent according to the principality club vice-president Vadim Vasilyev.
Batshuayi who has spent the first half of the season on loan at Valencia struggled to make an impact, scoring just three goals in 23 appearances and leading to his contract being terminated.
The Belgium international was expected to switch to Ligue 1 under former coach Thierry Henry but the deal has dragged on for a while and the V-P of the club has come out to explain the Blues want a permanent deal away from Stamford Bridge.
“We are happy with our transfer window so far,” vice-president Vadim Vasilyev told a press conference.
“It’s true that a striker could help the team. We’re just looking to good opportunities on the market.
“Batshuayi? We have an agreement with the player and with Valencia but not with Chelsea.
“They want a [permanent] transfer. Everything could go very quickly in football so we’ll see.”
