West Ham identify Arnautovic replacement in Maxi Gomez and Piatek
West Ham are lining up Celta Vigo Maxi Gomez and Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek as a possible replacement for China-linked Marko Arnautovic.
The hammers strikers Javier Hernandez, Marko Arnautovic and Lucas Perez are all linked with moves out of the club with Chicharito is wanted by Valencia on loan, Perez is on the radar of Real Betis, and Arnautovic a £45m target from a Chinese club.
According to Cadena Ser’s Radio Vigo (via Football Espana) reports that the Clarets have travelled to Spain to work out a deal for Celta Vigo star Gomez and today were linked with Genoa ace Piatek with the club revealing there has been no contact from any club.
Genoa President Enrico Preziosi insists ‘there have only been enquiries’ for Piatek.
“There have only been enquiries,” he told Il Secolo XIX.
“There are no offers, neither is there anything serious. If a monstrous offer arrives then we’ll weigh it up.
“However, for now, I repeat nothing has come in for Piatek, nor do we need to sell him.”
