Paul Pogba: Now I am always smiling
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he was happy following the come back of his youth coach and interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“It’s a pleasure to be reunited with him. I knew him from the Academy and the reserves. He is doing a really good job.
“As a player he knew the mentality of this club. He’s come back to help us and it is going very well.”
“I’m playing a bit further forward. I’ve more security behind me, it gives me the freedom to go forwards to try to get into the box and support the strikers.
“Before the coach arrived I was in the shadows, on the bench, and I accepted that. It is a pleasure to play again. Now I’m always smiling.”
The French world cup winner comments had earlier on been echoed by assistant coach Michael Carrick who revealed the change of mood in the United camp.
‘As you can imagine, it’s quite a happy camp,’ Carrick told MUTV on Wednesday.
‘Winning football matches, you can’t put a price on the feeling that gives you and the confidence, belief and almost a sense of calmness in a way.
‘It’s great to see the lads enjoying themselves. The football is flowing, the training is good and they’re bouncing around the place – it’s nice to see.’
Of new boss Solskjaer, Carrick added: ‘Ole has got that personality that rubs off on everybody – he’s so positive, he’s so upbeat all the time and I think you can see that rubbing off on individuals. That goes a long way to bringing the best out of the players.’
