Lille result: Galtier ‘It went well for us we scored beautiful goals’

Lille OSC cemented their place second place standing in Ligue 1 with a convincing 3-1 win away to Caen with Nicholas Pepe in fine form scoring and setting up Rafael Leao and Luiz Araujo.

Lille boss Christophe Galtier: “We had identified situations we needed to work on a lot on the recovery, even if we did not have much time between the cup game against Sochaux.

“It was necessary to play physical, it was necessary especially to be very disciplined on a tactical plan. You had to be very good defensively, especially on the air, in the ability to win second balls.

“It went well for us. We score beautiful goals, we have situations.

“I am very satisfied with the temperament of the team.

“A little angry to finish at 10 men on the pitch, not that the red card is not justified, but we have the match in hand at 2-0 and we do not take the ball out as we have to release it, it creates an incident and we are at 10.

“Sometimes, for one or two goals conceded, we lose places in the standings, and places in this battle will be expensive. ”
