Mathare United hold Gor Mahia with Oliech making cameo

Mathare United came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Gor Mahia at the Misc Kasarani in todays Kenya Premier league fixture with legendary striker Dennis Oliech making a 14-minute debut.

Gor Mahia went ahead first after Mathare keeper Owiny fouled Jacques Tuyisenge and the referee had no option but to give a penalty and the Rwandese striker wrong-footed the keeper for a 1-0 lead.
The slum boys levelled from the spot in the In the 57th minute, the 2008 KPL Champions after James Situma was brought down in the danger zone and Kevin Kimani slotted a well struck kick despite the keepers efforts.
Dennis Oliech was introduced in place of Nicholas Kipkirui with his impact felt as he held off the defense to tee up Lawrence Juma and fluffed his lines later on with a weak directionless header. The former Kenyan international should have added after a deflected shot bounced favourably but he couldn’t connect.
