Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke’s loan move to Crystal Palace has broken down according to reports.
According to the BBC sports, Solanke’s Palace switch has fallen through due to concerns over the striker’s fitness:
‘Solanke was ruled out of recent matches because of a muscle problem. Palace need a striker who is available to play straight away.’
Roy Hodgson had intimated that he was seeking the striker to fill in the striking role with Christian Benteke out injured with Conor Wickham and Sorloth firing blanks.
“It’s no secret he’s a target,” said Hodgson. “What would he do? Provide an attacking threat. He’s a proven goalscorer through all the age groups at (former youth club) Chelsea and England. He was quoted by the club website
“If he comes here, it’ll be up to him to show he can do that in Premier League football.
“He’s someone with the profile we’re looking for, and the ability we are looking for. We know him better from the England games, and the performances with England.
