Mathare United go top of KPL after midweek results

Mathare United went top of the league with Sony Sugar, Nzoia Sugar, AFC Leopards and Tusker grabbing 2-0 wins in the midweek Sportpesa KPL round five games.

Mathare got all three points courtesy of Cliff Nyakeya opened the scoring from the spot in the 11th minute before Clifford Alwanga 40th minute strike before Chris Onyango late consolation for KCB.
Sydney Ochieng was on target twice as Tusker FC club beat visiting Vihiga United FC 2-0 at Ruaraka Stadium to get their third win in a row and move to third in the KPL while the visitors remain 12th on five points.
Sony Sugar had Enock Agwanda on target from the spot kick and an own goal from Moses Chikati before Peter Thiong’o scored the only one for the away side Kakamega Homeboyz.
AFC Leopards got their first win of the season with a 2-0 win over Posta Rangers with Robinson Kamura getting the brace for Ingwe to move to three points with the mailmen on three points.
Western Stima who were joint top dropped to second with Cavin Odongo on target before being pegged back by Ellie Asieche for Sofapaka to share the spoils.
Nzoia Sugar were in ffine form with Hansel Ochieng on target on 21 minutes and 45 minutes to take down Ulinzi Stars at the bees reigned havoc to the game making the game stopped before resuming again at the Sudi Stadium.
