Simon Ndungu opened the scoring for Mount Kenya United but were pegged back immediately with Sydney Lokale bagging a comical goal as the home side keeper let a through ball bounce over his head with the striker needing two chances with the first cracking the crossbar before heading the rebound.
Lokale should have bagged two more goals blasting high from inside the box under no pressure on the half hour mark and two minutes later with the game going 1-1 on the break.
Harrison Mwendwa shot from outside the box should have been better struck with the tricky winger skying the ball in the second half Ndungu almost put United ahead on a rare attack in Sharks half with a goal line clearance required from a parried shot in the box.
Anthony Mwangi’s side almost went ahead with Moses Odhiambo shot saved and lead to the scrambling for the parried shot and Oyemba smothered the rebound shot from Nyakan.
Abege was next to waste a glorious chance blasting high and wide from a cutback from Mwendwa leaning back too much to miss an open chance.
Nixo Omondi almost scored the winner with a long strike that went throught the keepers fingere going out for a corner and the resulting set piece saw Abege missing a header going slightly wide.
