Ten man Mathare United defeat Chemilil 2-0
Mathare United opened the Sportpesa premier league with a convincing 2-0 win against Chemilil at the MISC Kasarani Stadium on Saturday 8th December.
Francis Kimanzi side goals came early on with Cliff Nyakeya finding the net in the fifth minute while Clifford Alwanga was on target eight minutes later.
The lads began the new campaign on a winning note easing past Chemelil Sugar 2-0 at Kasarani on Saturday.

Cliff Nyakeya scored on the rebound after his penalty had been saved by goalkeeper Benard Onunga and Clifford Alwanga doubled the lead heading home from Slum Boys returnee Kevin Kimani’s from a corner kick with goalkeeper Job Ochieng red-carded for a dangerous tackle on Lucas Waitere outside the area.

“We needed a positive result and I’m happy we got it. We brought Kimani back because of his healthy statics in terms of assists, passes and goals. He’s a gifted and technical player who will play a key role in our campaign,” Kimanzi told Standard Sports.
