Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo enjoying loan at Schalke 04
Barcelona on loan Schalke center-back Jean-Clair Todibo has admitted that he is enjoying his time in Germany in an exciting league in the world.
The French defender went on loan in the January transfer window at Schalke from Barcelona, where he’s been getting regular game time playing in five games in the league and five in the domestic cup.
The Royal Blue option to buy Todibo for €25 million euros plus a further five million euros in add-ons, with Barcelona having a buy-back option for 50m euros plus 10m euros in add-ons.
I feel really good,” Todibo told bundesliga.com.
“I’ve settled in well with the team, I feel great.
“All we’re missing at the moment are victories – we’re in a somewhat difficult period at present, but it’ll come good in time.”
Todibo has gradually seen his game time increase, which he puts down to having got to grips with the Bundesliga.
“I think I’ve been improving bit by bit in the league,” Todibo added.
“There was a moment when I wasn’t used to playing week-in week-out.
“But I’ve got back into it bit-by-bit, and now it’s going well.
“But if we don’t win, I’m never happy.”
“I always knew that the Bundesliga was a very good league,” he noted.
“And I wasn’t proven wrong when I arrived – it’s a very good league, very intense and has lots of quality.
“I like it a lot here.”
